For 50 years, Operation Lifesaver has been the nation’s leading nonprofit public education program dedicated to rail safety. Our mission is to prevent collisions, injuries, and fatalities on and around railroad tracks and highway-rail grade crossings for pedestrians, motorists, and agricultural operators alike.

Operation Lifesaver of the Dakotas offers:

• Free rail safety presentations for workplaces, schools, and community groups
• Free safety resources and educational materials to help promote safe behaviors around tracks and crossings
  

Led by the North Dakota Safety Council, Operation Lifesaver of the Dakotas is supported by a strong network of partners, including federal, state, and local agencies, highway safety organizations, law enforcement, and the nation’s railroads and their suppliers.
